"The garden?" I ask as I glance toward the back with a laugh. "We have servants for that. Why would I... ohh - so you're the servant? Damn, here I thought my baby brother was chasing the hot girl again."

"Excuse me..?" My eyebrow pinches uncertainly as I set the jug of tea onto the counter, starting on my hunt for a non-wine glass (Given I know recall where the wine glasses were stored).

"You're helping in the garden..?" I ask, unsure if I've understood correctly or not. "I don't know, Marnie is weird when it comes to what is and isn't work for the help. Is this a hobby for you two, or..?"

"Did you have to practice being this condescending, or does it just come naturally?" I respond with a cocked eyebrow, finally finding the glasses as I pull one down.

"He asked for the help with some plants, something to do with one of his projects."

"Ah, my apologies," I respond, bowing my head just slightly. "I'm kind of a dick - it's not intentional. Well, not usually."

"Ah, of course not." I say indulgently, glancing at him as I pour myself some tea, "I'm sure somewhere along the line, someone told you it was charming and ruined it for the rest of us."

"Oh no, Marnie is really good about reminding me that I'm the least charming bastard in the city," I smile as I dig in one of Marnie's drawers for a straw. "I just like watching people's reactions to an aggressor giving them shit. Skips right over all those boring niceties and immediately reveals a person's character."

"Does it?" I laugh, putting the tea back into the fridge as I glance towards the foyer in hopes of spotting Marnin.

"Is that some finely-tuned psychological technique or something you use to justify being rude without consequences?" I ask, returning to my stool as I set the glass down. I'm not eager to finagle drinking from the glass with Richard in the room just yet. "Because it kind of sounds made up."

"So does the boogeyman," I respond as I stick the straw in my soda and take a long sip from it.

"You're a blast to talk to." I say softly, looking down at my tea with a sigh before gesturing towards him. "Would you grab me a straw, please? I didn't know he had them."

I do as she asks, looking her over with interest as I come over to hand her the straw. When she reaches for it, my grip tightens, refusing to release the draw as I nod at her mask.

"He's very talented, isn't he?" I ask, admiring the symmetry the mask creates in her features. "Does it feel good? Being able to dress up again? Turning heads? Because I think that you must have turned a few heads on your way here - ironically, to the home of a man whose head can't be turnt."

I find myself glaring at him as I refuse to release the straw, my elbow resting against the counter as I lean towards him.

"Are you trying to make a point here?" I ask, "Because to be entirely honest, I don't think I have the patience for it."

"No point," I smile. "Not right now anyway. A concerned brother in his knickers doesn't make a very good point, in my experience." I continue to smile at her for another moment, watching her with interest before the sound of Marnin's heavy footsteps pull a sigh from me as I release the straw to her grasp. "Ljuba is here!" I purr the name as I call to Marnin just as he's hitting the bottom of the stairs before marching into the kitchen with a dour scowl on his lips.

"No," he says firmly, his finger finding me despite his blindness as he points threateningly at me. "You go away, you dick! She's my friend."

"I'd be scared if you didn't look even more ridiculous than me right now," I laugh at his half opened robe, his hair still soaked and plastered to his forehead as his eyes stare directly ahead. I flinch as he closes the last few feet between us, his fist hitting my shoulder roughly.

"Ow," I whine as I grab the offended shoulder. "Fine, fine! I'm going... downstairs, that is. That girl is still at my house. Probably thinks we'll be married if she sticks around to cook breakfast. Ugh."

"Wow, she's really dodging a bullet with you bailing, isn't she?" I can't help but say, smiling at him politely as I shove the straw into my tea and take a sip. "Pleasure meeting you."

"Keeps me free for you, darling," I respond with a wink as I walk backwards toward the keeping room, sipping on my soda as I go. "Love the blouse, by the way." My eyebrows twitch upward a bit as I touch my own robe right in the center of my chest, lifting it suggestively as though showing her a peak of my chest.

My teeth grind together in annoyance as I pick up on his every quiet gesture and facial expression, his suggestive grin making me want to punch him in his ugly teeth. I shake my head when he's finally outside earshot, my cheeks flushing a bit as I grab a hand towel from the counter to wipe the water dripping down my neck.

"Sorry," I wince toward Ljuba. "I thought I'd be out of the shower before you got here."

"Don't be," I respond quietly as I look back at Marnin, smiling crookedly as I twist my straw in my tea, "You did tell me he was a dick, so I was prepared."

"Yeah, but he's a gross sweaty dick when he's around pretty women," I groan before nodding for her to follow me back upstairs to the bedroom so I can get dressed without leaving her unattended. "I'm going to guess you must be looking nice today, though, so, uhm... you look nice today?"

"Well, I do know a pretty girl when I see one," I say matter-of-factly before pausing at the stairs as I glance back at her. "That was a joke, get it? Cause I'm blind."

I can't help but laugh as she shoves me, my hand going to the railing as the other reaches up to hold my robe closed as I lead the way upstairs.

"So I was thinking about this other project I'm wanting to take up," I say as I reach the top of the stairs, the hand on the railing trailing along the wall as I feel my way to the door of the sitting room. "It might be a little outside of my scope of knowledge, though. I was wondering if maybe you might help me on it..?"

"Well, that's going to depend on what it is?" I start, trailing behind him before stepping into the sitting room and setting my bag on the floor beside the chair I ultimately sink into. "Because unless it's in my scope, I'll be sort of useless, don't you think?"

"Well, it sort of is your scope," I admit as I continue into the bedroom to fetch the clothes I've laid out on the bed. I hesitate there as I get a feel for my surroundings, for where Ljuba is in relation to myself. Content that the fireplace obscures her view, I drop my robe off of my shoulders and start drying myself off with it before speaking again.

"I kind of want to learn a little bit about magic," I admit as I toss the robe across the room before grabbing the clean underwear from the bed. "I'm not really sure what exactly, but... I don't know, I'm curious."

I busy myself tugging the books out of my bag, pulling them into my lap as I thumb through them boredly while listening to him speak. Shrugging, I glance up towards his room, catching an eyeful of his backside before quickly averting my eyes and flushing a deep shade of scarlet.

"I-" I start, "I coul- I could definitely... Yeah." Words fail me as I dare to steal another glance, noticing for the first time just how broad the man was. The gym two floors below certainly doesn't go unused. "You know I can see you... Right?"

I nearly trip over my underwear as I scramble to pull them up more quickly, heat rushing up my neck and across my face as I glance back in her direction. "I, uhm... I was really hoping the fireplace was in the way," I admit with an awkward laugh. "Sorry."
