"I don't know that money will be a concern for you." I say softly, "Most circles - at least the ones I've worked with - are fairly well taken care of by the Chantry. You'll have room and board covered for as long as you remain within your circle."

"Yeah, but still," I say quickly, my sleeves bunching in my hands nervously as I fidget in my spot. "For outside the circle. Or, you know, for whatever."

"For whatever," I nod with a grin, my hands smoothing over my knees as I glance over at the clock. Still a bit of time before I can expect the morning prayers to end.

"Do you want to come down to the tavern for a bit of breakfast?" I ask after a moment, my own antsiness sitting unsteadily with me as I rise from my seat, "They were getting ready to start cooking the first round when I headed up, and it smelled amazing. I'm starving after yesterday."

"Yes, please," I respond almost too quickly, practically bouncing off of the bed with the promise of food. "I'm starving... I mean, not literally. Dinner was very good yesterday. I'm grateful... but I'd also be happy to eat today, too."

Chuckling, I grab my bags and hoist them onto my shoulder before heading towards the door.

"Get your stuff, c'mon," I grin, shaking my head as I look back at Aodh. "I think they have a pretty decently sized breakfast menu, and you can get whatever you want off it. We can even get a bit to-go, if you like."

"Breakfast twice in one day?" I groan as I hoist my bag onto my back and follow her with a grin. "You're starting to speak my language there, guardian. Keep it up and I might start to trust you."

"If breakfast is all it takes, you can order the whole menu." I respond with a smirk, holding the door for him as we head out into the hall - key in hand.

"Stop!" I practically whine before laughing. "You're gonna give me a heart attack."

"What, is bacon bad for you?" I ask, giving him my best concerned look before grinning.

"It probably is, but what do I know?" I laugh as I follow her out to the bar. "Before I met you, I rarely ate meat."

"Oh, yeah," I laugh, gesturing to the bartender before going to find a table near the wall so i can set down our things. "I'll turn you into a proper omnivore, you watch. I'm sure you've figured out by now that I love breakfast sausage. Sage just does something magical to meat."

"Yes, I had noticed that," I laugh as I nod my thanks to the innkeeper as he hands me a menu. It still feels weird ordering food from the menu and not just bartering for the cheapest thing they have.

The innkeeper dismisses himself as we take our seats, menus in hand.

"Any idea what you want?"

"Uhm," I respond hesitantly as I stare at the hand-written menu at a loss. There are no pictures. Not even the crudely drawn ones like the little Inn in my hometown.

"You know," I smile lightly as I hand the menu to her as casually as possible. "You know the area better than me. Surprise me?"

I smile lightly as I take the menu, setting it on top of my own as I glance down at it.

"They have a King's Breakfast, it's eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy and..." I trail off, glancing back down, "And a hash. Sound good?" I ask as I look back up at him, "A bit of it all and plenty to bring with us for the road."

View user profile http://sordidnations.forumotion.com
"That's perfect," I nod, relaxing visibly at no longer being put on the spot. "And some orange juice."

I nod as I take the menus in my hand, sliding to the edge of the booth.

"I'll go order real quick," I say, tapping the table with the menus before I rise to head towards the bar.

I half-rise from my seat as she gets up, nodding gratefully as she moves off to the bar. Clearing my throat, I sit back down and look around the inn as I fidget with the placemat in front of me. It's quiet this early in the morning, a fact I'm rather thankful for to be honest. It's been a crazy few weeks, and every new town leaves me feeling over simulated and drained.

After watching the room for a few minutes, still fidgeting with my placemat, Zenovia returns and I do another awkward little half rise as she takes her seat.

"So what did you get?" I ask as I take my seat again.

View user profile
"Same thing," I say as I slide back into my seat, sliding him his glass of orange juice as I set my own glass of water in front of me. "I like a bit of everything."

View user profile http://sordidnations.forumotion.com
"Me, too," I nod as I take a sip of my orange juice. "What about magic? Did you ever want to try that? I mean, you've got all that other stuff going for you. Did you ever wonder what magic would be like?"

View user profile
"Who says I don't have magic?" I remark as I raise an eyebrow at him, taking a sip of my water before grinning.

View user profile http://sordidnations.forumotion.com
"But you don't," I respond before hesitating as I look at her sideways. "Do you?"

I laugh softly as I shake my head, "Not in the sense that you have magic, no.

"My mother was a witch, and my father was..." I shrug, "Not around. I never had the innate gifts my mother had, though."

"But you have your own gifts," I offer, smiling lightly at her as I take a dip of my juice. "Maybe that's better."

"Not entirely," I smile, unfolding my napkin and refolding it as I glance towards the bar. "I can't do any sort of magic at will, there are just things that are different." I shrug, glancing up towards the horns tucked into his curls. "But, you wouldn't be too far off if you assumed I was sent to investigate your rumors because I might have more in common with you than one of the blokes at the bar." I add with a slight wink.
